CARTEST

Your enquiry privacy.

Updated 6 November 2026

This page explains how the CarTest website handles an enquiry. Making an enquiry does not create a booking or sign you up for marketing.

What the form collects

The form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, postcode, preferred package, the cars you are considering, your timing and any notes you choose to provide. If you use the comparison guide, your selected priorities can be included in your enquiry. If you request Purchase Assist, we also record that interest and any current written drive-away quote amount you choose to share. Please leave out identity documents, finance applications and payment details.

Why we collect it

CarTest uses these details to understand your request, discuss suitable comparison options or Purchase Assist and contact you about that enquiry. The website does not collect payment details, a driver licence, a precise home address or financial application information.

Where your enquiry goes

Submitted enquiries are saved in a database used by the CarTest website, hosted through Sites and Cloudflare. A reference is shown only after the enquiry has been saved. Resend processes the submitted details to deliver an enquiry alert to the CarTest team and a confirmation to the email address you provide. The team’s alert includes your contact details, comparison preferences, Purchase Assist interest and quote amount if supplied, notes and enquiry reference so they can respond to your request. Your confirmation includes your reference, comparison summary, any requested Purchase Assist and the next steps. These are enquiry emails, not marketing subscriptions. The website does not automatically email the enquiry to a dealer or manufacturer, or add you to a marketing list.

Client portal and payment records

Customers sign in with a short-lived verification code sent to their email address through Resend. A ChatGPT account is not required for customer access. Customers can access only records associated with their verified email address; authorised CarTest staff use a separate protected staff sign-in through ChatGPT to manage enquiries and payment records. Essential cookies keep your sign-in session secure. We store protected verification and session records, expiry times and limited security information to prevent repeated guessing and unwanted email requests. Verification codes and sessions expire, and signing out ends the customer session. These cookies are not used for marketing. We store service payment requests, agreed service details, amounts, payment references and payment-provider identifiers so payments can be matched to an enquiry. CarTest staff actions are recorded with the staff identity and time.

If you use online checkout, Stripe processes the payment and receives the payment information you enter there, together with the amount, your email address and the payment request reference. The CarTest website does not store your card number or card security code. Payment confirmations and refund updates are used to keep the payment record accurate. Information is not made public through the portal.

Your choices

You can leave optional fields blank, close the form without submitting, or download a copy of your enquiry after submission. Personal form details are not saved to your browser’s local storage. To request a correction or removal, contact the CarTest team through the enquiry form and include your enquiry reference.

Comparison checklist and imagery

The comparison checklist is generated in your browser and is not a vehicle recommendation or stock check. Vehicle photography is illustrative. The website loads its typography from Google Fonts, which receives the normal connection information needed to deliver those files.
