Enquiries and bookings
This website lets you explore CarTest’s seven-day comparison packages and optional Purchase Assist service, and make an enquiry. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking, vehicle reservation, car purchase or agreement to pay. No payment is taken when you submit an enquiry. Once CarTest has agreed the service and terms with you, a separate payment request can be made available in your signed-in client portal. Expressing interest in Purchase Assist does not engage the service or activate its guarantee.
Package prices
- One car for seven days: A$499 including GST.
- Two cars across seven days, split three plus four days: A$699 including GST.
- Three cars across seven days, split two plus two plus three days: A$899 including GST.
Every package lasts seven days in total. Comparison-package fees do not include the vehicle purchase price or the optional A$500 including GST Purchase Assist fee.
Confirmation before commitment
Vehicle availability, dates, service area, collection or delivery arrangements, eligibility, kilometre limits, insurance and excess, charging or fuel, additional costs, and payment and cancellation terms must be confirmed in writing before a booking is agreed. Comparison packages do not promise stock availability or a particular purchase saving. The separate conditional guarantee below applies only to an agreed Purchase Assist engagement.
CarTest Purchase Assist
Purchase Assist is optional purchase-price negotiation support, available as an addition to a comparison package for A$500 including GST. Before you pay or chargeable negotiation work begins, we agree in writing your eligibility, the starting quote and vehicle specification, the scope of work, negotiation period, refund processing timeframe and any cancellation terms.
Starting quote and comparable offers
The agreed starting quote must be a genuine, current written drive-away quote for an eligible new vehicle. A qualifying result is an available written offer that you can accept for the same model, variant, model year and options, with comparable delivery timing, registration and purchase conditions. The comparison includes applicable on-road costs and required delivery or other charges, rather than a discount from recommended retail price.
We measure an actual reduction in the vehicle’s total purchase price. Changes in trade-in value, finance repayments or terms, the stated value of accessories or other extras, and rebates already included in or available under the starting quote do not count towards the guarantee. Fixed-price vehicles and purchases already under contract may be unsuitable; we check eligibility before accepting payment.
Negotiation-fee refund guarantee
If we cannot secure a qualifying offer at least A$500 below your agreed starting quote within the agreed negotiation period, we automatically refund the full A$500 including GST negotiation fee within the refund processing timeframe agreed before payment. This guarantee concerns the negotiation fee only; comparison-package fees are separate.
Price reductions are measured before our negotiation fee. An A$500 reduction covers the A$500 fee and leaves no net purchase-price saving after that fee. An A$1,000 reduction leaves an A$500 net saving after that fee. These examples do not deduct the separately purchased comparison package.
You decide whether to purchase. You enter the vehicle contract directly with the supplying dealer and pay the dealer directly. CarTest does not sign the vehicle contract or receive the vehicle purchase funds on your behalf. Any applicable dealer or manufacturer payment arrangements will be disclosed before you engage the service.
This voluntary guarantee is additional to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Client portal and payments
Sign in using the email address on your enquiry to view your own records and payment requests. Only authorised CarTest staff can create payment requests or record payments received. The agreed service details and charges are shown before you pay; all listed fees are in AUD and include GST.
Online checkout is processed by Stripe when it is available. Card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored by the CarTest website. A successful return from checkout alone is not proof of settlement: the portal shows a payment as received after payment-provider confirmation. Payments received outside Stripe may be recorded by authorised staff with a reference. Service availability and booking confirmation remain subject to your agreed service terms.
Refunds and cancellations follow your agreed terms and Australian Consumer Law rights, including the separately agreed Purchase Assist guarantee where applicable. Payment requests are service records, not automatic bookings or vehicle purchase contracts.
Service area and funding
CarTest’s initial focus is Melbourne and Victoria. Availability is checked for your location and chosen vehicles. CarTest receives manufacturer payments for completed test drives as well as customer package fees; the applicable arrangement will be explained before booking.
