Christian’s background spans automotive retail, digital marketplaces and entrepreneurship. His career includes roles at Audi Centre Brighton, Mercedes-Benz Berwick, CarsGuide and carsales, alongside founding and leading Carhood.
That experience has shown him the car-buying journey from several sides. CarTest brings those perspectives together around the buyer: helping people understand their options, ask useful questions and experience the cars they’re considering.

After selling his first business, Carhood, Christian Schaefer established CarTest in August 2017 to help buyers answer a question a brochure cannot.
Our first customer joined us at our original Tullamarine location that year. The premises have changed, but the idea remains: give people the time and guidance to experience a car before making a major decision.
