CARTEST · MELBOURNE
Car test drives.
Time to find your fit.
A short drive can tell you how a car feels. Three days can tell you how it fits your life.
CarTest helps Melbourne new-car buyers try their shortlist in everyday conditions before deciding what to buy. Take your usual commute, park at home, check passenger comfort and load the things you actually carry. Compare familiar brands, a hybrid or an electric car with practical experience behind the wheel.
How an extended car test works
Tell us which cars interest you, or ask for help building a shortlist. We discuss the available models, dates, eligibility and vehicle terms before you book. Each vehicle is delivered to your agreed home or office, and you receive and return it personally.
Each car is booked for three consecutive days (72 hours). You can leave gaps between cars and complete your test drives within four weeks (28 days) of your first vehicle handover. Dates are agreed before booking and subject to availability. Gaps do not count as driving days.

What should you check on a car test drive?
- Everyday fit: seat comfort, visibility, controls, child seats and boot access.
- Your own roads: city traffic, the commute, parking space and driveway clearance.
- Running routine: refuelling or charging arrangements, useful range and space for your usual journeys.
- The comparison: note the same things in each car while the experience is fresh, then weigh them against your priorities.
Where can CarTest deliver?
We deliver to your home or office in Melbourne and inner metro areas. We confirm the delivery address and arrangements with you before booking. You do not need to live at the delivery address.
You can live elsewhere if you can personally take delivery and return the cars at an eligible location. Enter your intended delivery postcode when you enquire. For help, contact CarTest.
Is this a driving test or vehicle inspection?
CarTest is a new-car test-drive and comparison service for buyers. We do not conduct learner-licence driving tests, roadworthy inspections or mechanical certification through this experience.
